Giving Back to the Community That Has Sustained Papeyon Through The Years
As featured in the Lucile Packard Foundation newsletter:
There are two days a month at LPCH gift shop when sales spike sky high, and that is when Lynne Glendenning of Papeyon makes an appearance. Lynne is a professional muralist, with over twenty-five years’ experience painting commissions for Bay Area clients. Two years ago, she decided to donate her services in personalization to a worthy charity, and the Gift Shop at Packard was the perfect fit. Before long, Lynne joined the Roth Auxiliary and a thriving partnership was born.
During the holidays, Lynne may come up to four times in one month. Thanks to the drying light box built for her by an Auxiliary member, she can complete up to 100 items in one day, which takes a steady hand. With sales increased more than four-fold on the days Lynne is in the Gift Shop, she takes great pride in the contribution she makes to uncompensated care at Packard. “I know what a toll disease takes on families. With all of the people out of work and uninsured, it is a great thing the Auxilliaries are doing to give them a safety net. I feel fortunate to be part of the solution.”
